A Family Man & Community Leader

A Kansas native, husband, father, and proud Navy veteran, Dr. Hartman is passionate about his community and his family. Married since 1980, he and his wife, Kim, have three grown daughters. In his free time, he enjoys traveling (especially to visit his daughters), boating, jet skiing, military history, bird hunting, and cheering on KU Basketball. He also loves spending time with his two dogs (Beatrice & Dougie) and two Siamese cats (Dottie & Kit).

A Passion for Dentistry & Patient Care

Dr. Hartman’s journey in dentistry began with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kansas (1978) and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from UMKC (1983). He served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps (1983–1986) before transitioning into private practice, joining Dr. Stevens & Associates Dental Practice in 1986 and eventually taking ownership in 1991.

Expert in Dentures & Dental Implants

Recognized for his expertise in same-day custom dentures, Dr. Hartman has perfected this specialty over the past 30+ years. When dental implants were introduced in 1989, he dedicated himself to continuing education, becoming proficient in implant surgery to improve denture retention and function. He remains committed to staying at the forefront of dentistry, completing an average of 45 hours of continuing education each year, focusing on dentures, implants, and cosmetic dentistry.

Why do we offer multiple treatment plans to our patients?

Dr. Hartman speaks about how we like to provide our patients with a choice of treatment plans to ensure that we can find the best plan that suits the patient to support their most optimal dental health without breaking the bank.
